Raw Light. Real Space.

Three studios built for extraordinary images—book by the hour or day.

The moment you step inside, the air hums with possibility. Cool concrete floors underfoot, the scent of aged oak from our custom-built sets, and that signature Brooklyn light—soft yet unfiltered—streaming through 12-foot industrial windows. No fluff. No distractions. Just the raw materials of great photography: space, light, and time. Choose your environment—each designed for a different kind of story, from high-fashion editorials to intimate portrait sessions. Your shoot starts here.

Industrial studio space with natural light streaming through large windows

Three Studios. One Vision.

Each space is a blank canvas—pick the one that fits your shoot.

We didn’t just build studios. We engineered environments where light behaves exactly how you need it to. The Loft for sweeping commercial sets. The Vault for moody, textured portraits. The Atelier for quick, high-turnover product shoots. Every surface, every angle, every power outlet has been placed with intention. Because when you’re creating something extraordinary, the space shouldn’t fight you—it should elevate you.

The Loft

A 2,200 sq ft cathedral of light with 18-foot ceilings and a 30-foot cyclorama wall finished in seamless Belgian linen. The north-facing windows flood the space with diffused daylight from dawn till dusk, while our Profoto D4 packs and 10’x10’ softboxes let you sculpt light like clay. The concrete floors—polished to a soft matte—reflect just enough bounce to keep shadows rich but not muddy. Perfect for large-scale commercial shoots, fashion editorials, or anything that demands room to breathe.

Capacity Up to 15 crew + talent
Ceiling Height 18 ft
Cyclorama 30 ft x 12 ft (seamless Belgian linen)

The Vault

A 900 sq ft underground chamber where light feels like velvet. The walls—clad in reclaimed brick from a 1920s Manhattan warehouse—absorb and reflect in equal measure, creating a moody, textured backdrop that’s begging for drama. A 12-foot motorized rail system lets you position your key light anywhere in the room without breaking your stride. The temperature hovers at a cool 68°F year-round, so your talent stays comfortable even under hot strobes. Ideal for portraiture, beauty close-ups, or any shoot that thrives on depth and character.

Capacity Up to 8 crew + talent
Ceiling Height 12 ft
Walls Reclaimed 1920s Manhattan brick

The Atelier

A 600 sq ft precision box designed for speed and repeatability. The walls are painted in a custom matte gray (RGB 120,120,120) to eliminate color casts, and the floor is covered in interchangeable vinyl backdrops—black, white, or woodgrain—so you can swap scenes in under 60 seconds. A 48”x96” glass shooting table with built-in LED backlighting makes product photography effortless, while our Broncolor Siros 800 L monolights ensure consistent color temperature shot after shot. The perfect studio for e-commerce, food photography, or any project where efficiency matters as much as quality.

Built for Creatives. Engineered for Speed.

Every detail is designed to keep your shoot moving—without sacrificing quality.

We’ve spent years refining what a studio should be. Not just a room with good light, but a tool that helps you work faster, smarter, and with more control. From the moment you walk in, you’ll feel the difference: power where you need it, storage where you don’t, and a team that anticipates your needs before you do. Because the best shoots aren’t just about the final image—they’re about the flow that gets you there.

⚡

Profoto D4 Power Packs (4x)

Four 4,800W/s packs with ultra-fast recycle times (0.03s at full power) and wireless AirTTL compatibility. The heads are mounted on rolling stands with 10-foot booms, so you can position them anywhere in the room without tripping over cords. The light is crisp, clean, and consistent—no color shifts, no flicker, just pure control.

💡

Broncolor Siros 800 L Monolights (6x)

Six 800W/s monolights with built-in RFS 2.2 receivers and 9-stop power ranges. The light modifiers—from 20” beauty dishes to 7-foot octabanks—snap on in seconds, and the color temperature stays locked at 5600K ± 100K. Perfect for product photography where consistency is non-negotiable.

🛠️

12-Foot Motorized Rail System (The Vault)

A silent, ceiling-mounted rail that lets you reposition your key light anywhere in the room without moving a stand. The motor is controlled via a wireless remote, so you can make micro-adjustments from across the room. The rail itself is powder-coated matte black to disappear into the ceiling—no distractions, just precision.

🔍

48”x96” Glass Shooting Table (The Atelier)

A tempered glass table with a frosted underside and built-in 5000K LED backlighting. The surface is large enough for full-plate food photography or small product sets, and the edges are beveled to eliminate reflections. The legs are adjustable, so you can shoot at table height or waist height—no more crouching.

🖼️

Custom Vinyl Backdrops (3x)

Three interchangeable backdrops—matte black, seamless white, and reclaimed woodgrain—mounted on a ceiling track in The Atelier. Swap them in under a minute without taping or clamping. The vinyl is thick enough to resist wrinkles but flexible enough to roll up for storage. No more fighting with paper rolls that tear or crease.

❄️

Climate Control (68°F ¹ 2°F)

A zoned HVAC system keeps each studio at a constant 68°F, so your talent stays comfortable and your gear doesn’t overheat. The airflow is silent and directional—no drafts, no hot spots, just consistent temperature from the first shot to the last. The system is serviced quarterly by a licensed HVAC technician.

🔒

Secure Gear Storage (24/7)

Each studio has a locked, climate-controlled storage room for your equipment. The rooms are lined with foam padding to protect your gear, and the shelves are adjustable to fit everything from camera bags to light stands. Access is via a keypad code, which we’ll share when you book. No more hauling gear back and forth to your car.

🤝

On-Site Production Assistant

Every booking includes a production assistant to help with setup, breakdown, and anything in between. Need a C-stand moved? A gel changed? A last-minute prop sourced? They’re there. Our PAs are all working photographers or assistants themselves, so they know the lingo and the workflow. No hand-holding—just support when you need it.

Studio Guidelines

A few simple rules to keep your shoot running smoothly.

We want your experience at GraniteGroveGate to be seamless, so we’ve put together a few guidelines to help everything run smoothly. These aren’t meant to restrict your creativity—they’re here to protect the space, your gear, and the people working with you. Follow these, and we’ll all have a great day.

Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in starts 15 minutes before your booking. Our production assistant will meet you at the door, give you a quick tour, and answer any questions. Check-out is at the end of your booked time—if you need to stay late, let us know in advance, and we’ll adjust your invoice accordingly. Late check-outs are subject to a $50/hour fee.

Food & Drink

Food and drink are allowed in the studios, but please keep it contained. No open containers near gear or backdrops, and clean up after yourself. We provide complimentary coffee, tea, and water, and there’s a fridge in the lounge for your snacks. If you’re shooting food, let us know in advance—we have a separate prep area to keep your set clean.

Gear & Equipment

Our gear is available for use during your booking, but please treat it with care. If you damage something, you’ll be responsible for the cost of repair or replacement. You’re welcome to bring your own equipment, but let us know in advance so we can make space. All personal gear must be removed at the end of your shoot.

Smoking & Vaping

Smoking and vaping are not allowed inside the studios or in the common areas. If you need to step outside, please use the designated smoking area in the alley behind the building. Cigarette butts must be disposed of in the provided receptacles—no exceptions.

Noise & Music

You’re welcome to play music during your shoot, but keep the volume at a reasonable level. Our studios are in a shared building, so we ask that you be mindful of our neighbors. If you’re shooting video, let us know in advance—we’ll make sure the HVAC is turned off to eliminate background noise.

Talent & Crew

Each studio has a maximum capacity (see the space details above). If you need to exceed this limit, let us know in advance—we may be able to accommodate you for an additional fee. All talent and crew must sign a liability waiver before entering the studio. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

Props & Sets

You’re welcome to bring your own props and sets, but please let us know in advance so we can make space. If you need help sourcing props, our production assistant can recommend local rental houses. All props must be removed at the end of your shoot—we don’t have storage space for personal items.

Clean-Up

Please leave the studio as you found it. That means putting gear back where it belongs, sweeping up any debris, and wiping down surfaces. If you’re shooting food or liquids, let us know in advance—we’ll provide extra cleaning supplies. If the studio is left in disarray, you’ll be charged a $150 cleaning fee.

The Vault’s underground vibe is unmatched. I shot a series of portraits there last week, and the light was so flattering—soft but directional, with just the right amount of contrast.
